It improves mood in some people and not others, often depending on the way that drug interacts with the brain and the level of chemical your brain needs to reduce your anxiety. No antidepressants should be taken without a doctor's supervision, because those that don't benefit from Pristiq may actually experience an increase in their symptoms.
Also, there is currently no drug on the market that cures anxiety permanently. Those taking Pristiq will still need to partner their medication with non-medicinal coping treatments. Otherwise, Pristiq appears to be fairly effective at reducing anxiety in some people, with little effect for others. Many believe although few studies have been completed that some people may actually experience an increase in their anxiety symptoms - especially their physical anxiety symptoms - if they go on a drug like Pristiq.
In fact, Cymbalta has been shown to positively affect many of the core and peripheral symptoms of generalized anxiety, as well as some of the physical manifestations of the disease. Characterized by exaggerated worry or chronic anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder is one of the most frequently diagnosed mental disorders in the country, at a rate of nearly four million new cases each year in the US alone. I just started cymbalta four days ago. So far it seems to be inproving my moods, but I've had alot of the side effects. I take it for Generalized Anxiety The first few days, i felt very alot of nausea, had trouble sleeping, and it makes me feel very wired. I have also noticed some sexual side effects also. I hope these side effects go away after awhile, if not I will be switching to a different med. Lexicomp shows multiple class C interactions.
